The
activities of POEMATEC – Sustainable Technology for the Amazon
Limited, started in March, 2001, with the construction of the most
modern plant in the world for production of artifacts from coconut
fiber and latex. Moreover, POEMATEC completes a sustainable production
chain in the state of Pará, Brazil, beginning with the gathering of
natural resources, providing further processing (currently taking
place in nine different units) all the way through to the end product
ready for market.
The
products are designed for a number of industrial applications,
especially within the automobile industry, to replace synthetic
materials such as polyurethane. On the long-term, high standards of
quality, comfort and
recycleability
compensate the increased costs in comparison to synthetic counterparts.
